Judge Perez, elected to the Civil Court of the City of New York in 2023, has nearly three decades of experience as a prosecutor, public defender, and private practitioner. A founding and advisory board member of our association, she has long championed Latino representation in the legal profession. Her nomination is a milestone of resilience and community representation.
Judge Miret, the son of Cuban immigrants, currently serves as an Acting Supreme Court Justice in Queens County. His career includes work as a federal clerk, Queens prosecutor, and more than twenty years in private practice. Known for his fairness and integrity, he has built a reputation for ensuring all voices are heard in his courtroom.
Their nominations reflect the growing diversity of Queens County and the importance of a judiciary that mirrors the communities it serves. We congratulate Hon. Sandra Perez and Hon. Gary F.
