The Latino Lawyers Association of Queens County was proud to sponsor and attend the 2025 Flor de Maga Award Ceremony, an inspiring evening hosted by the Puerto Rican Bar Association under the leadership of President Reiner P. Pierantoni, Esq. The event took place at HK Hall in Hell’s Kitchen, bringing together members of the legal community to honor outstanding contributions to justice and public service.
One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick Award for Judicial Excellence to the Honorable Lumarie Maldonado-Cruz. The award, named after the esteemed former Associate Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, recognizes trailblazers in the judiciary who demonstrate unwavering commitment to justice, integrity, and community empowerment.
Guests were treated to a moving tribute featuring congratulatory video messages from Judge Maldonado Cruz’s mother, husband, and children—underscoring the personal and professional impact of her work. Her acceptance speech resonated deeply, capturing her dedication to the law and her passion for service.
The celebration also featured vibrant performances by Puerto Rican musicians and dancers, infusing the evening with cultural pride, energy, and joy. It was a true reflection of the Puerto Rican spirit and the community’s strength.
